Breaking: Microsoft releases Multi Touch Platform

Microsoft just released their slick new multi-touch product they call Surface. It appears to use light scattering at the surface of a diffuse projection screen, with a projector beneath the surface of the table. The current model is 30″ and goes on sale in Winter 2007.

It’s funny that this announcement is being made on the week we are getting the materials for our own 8+ foot multi touch screen table for the Smart House. Details with pictures from the Smart House Lab to follow.
